About Me
I am a Latina artist, mother, teacher, and New Yorker. I love creating designs, images, and illustrations. I am a proud product of the City University of New York... Hunter College graduate (BFA '95) and Lehman College graduate (MA '11). I'm into photography, drawing and screenprinting, woodcarving, and linocut. I am an avid crafter and artisan. My work reflects my thoughts, passions, roots, humor and spirit.
MY PROCESS
I create my images by carving into wood, linoleum, and other materials, and then hand printing each one. I also work in acrylic, watercolor and colored pencils. My work has been described as “personal,” “romantic,” and “symbolic.” Through the use of simplified, bold, and expressive lines, I create images full of emotion and meaning. I am inspired by my family, by nature, my culture, its symbols, and its people.
